Congress – The renowned location for international congresses and conferences

From September 30 to October 3, 2026, the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) held its 35th Congress at the Austria Center Vienna, the third in Vienna after 2007 and 2016. Over 20,300 participants and 144 exhibitors attended, the highest numbers ever at an EADV Congress. In 2016, there were 11,320 in Vienna. To accommodate this size, EADV used the entire venue: all five exhibition halls X1 to X5 covering around 26,000 m², along with halls, foyers, and networking areas on all five levels. For CEO Kimberley Zimmermann, this has a side effect that matters at professional congresses:

For four days, the participants meet exclusively with colleagues from their own field. Behind this was logistics that the participants shouldn’t even notice: over 100 shuttle buses across the parking deck, visitor flows over five levels, security concept, exhibition logistics. The event management team at Austria Center Vienna guided the EADV through the entire planning process. “We never felt left alone,” says Zimmermann, “and that is really valuable when organizing this type of event.” Her recommendation to other organizers of medical congresses: “The facilities are absolutely top level, and it really allows you to organize a great event.”
