We encourage organisers to make their meetings events as green as possible, and to support them we provide a free certification service. As Austria’s leading green conference centre we already satisfy many of the criteria by default, and the same applies to our partners, who are certified in accordance with the Austrian Umweltzeichen eco-label.

-Up to 90 % energy savings
On-site electricity, cooling and heating production as well as the changeover to LED lighting enables us to make annual energy savings which are equivalent to the energy consumption of over 750 households. The centre’s solar arrays cover its hot water demands, and all WCs are supplied from the venue’s own well, which also provides the water needed for the cooling system.

Promoting a healthy work-life balance is very important to us, because only a motivated team can deliver outstanding performance. The opportunity to work at home, supporting parental leave for fathers as well as other measures to support women and families are enshrined in our corporate culture – just like our health initiatives including an employee gym, fruit baskets and our fit2work programme.

We take our responsibilities to wider society seriously. That is why we participate in the International Day of the Girl Child, support the UNWG Bazaar and provide free childcare at large-scale congresses. We also want to let as many people as possible know about all the latest discoveries at our congresses, while an independent ombudsman ensures good relations with our neighbours.

While we are delighted with everything that we have achieved so far, we want to carry on improving. For us, continuous improvement is all about ambitious plans such as the danubeSAIL modernisation project, forging new partnerships and obtaining new certifications.
