Meet our new head of the event management department Petra Gräftner and the new additions to our sales team, Gudrun Strondl and Christina Strohschneider. Philip Ulamec will deputize as head of the sales teams while Karin Stattmann is on maternity leave.
Petra Gräftner – Head of Event Management
Petra Gräftner took up the reins as Head of Event Management at the Austria Center Vienna at the start of September. She is in charge of coordinating and executing events as well as the ongoing strategic development of the department. Petra started her career in the tourism industry, primarily in the four and five-star hotel segment. After branching out into the seminar and congress sector, she worked at the MuseumsQuartier Vienna for 15 years where she was responsible for space rental and event management.
Philip Ulamec – interim Head of Sales
Philip Ulamec joined the Austria Center Vienna as a top sales manager and Deputy Head of Sales in mid-February. He specialises in European and international corporate events. Philip took over as interim head of department in mid-September when Karin Stattmann went on maternity leave. An experienced manager with many years in the hotel and event industry under his belt – including a number of management roles – he knows the Austria Center Vienna inside out from his time at Motto Catering.
Gudrun Strondl – Sales Manager Associations Europe
Gudrun Strondl joined the Austria Center Vienna team as Sales Manager Associations Europe in August. With more than 15 years’ experience of corporate and associations meetings to her name, she has an intuitive understanding of our customers’ needs and requirements. Key milestones in her career include a spell as a project manager in charge of congresses at the AIM Group and her function as head of congresses and corporate meetings at the Columbus group.
Christina Strohschneider – Sales Manager Associations Europa
Christina Strohschneider took up her post as Sales Manager Associations Europe at the Austria Center Vienna at the start of August. Highly experienced thanks to her previous roles at the Vienna Convention Bureau and the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation, she has a strong feel for our customers’ needs and requirements, and the expectations people have of the capital as a congress destination. Her expertise also extends to green meetings and sustainability, which dovetails perfectly with the Austria Center Vienna’s ethos as the nation’s first certified Green Conference Center.
