Diversity is important to us

Sustainable corporate development is only possible if diversity and equality are an integral part of day-to-day operations. As far as equal opportunities are concerned, we have already implemented a wide range of measures – and have lots of plans for the future.

Legacy in the destination

More and more congresses are taking concrete measures to inform and involve the Viennese population in the course of their event. In doing so, they leave a positive and lasting impact on the city beyond the actual date of the event. Whether it's our science communication service or support for various activities, the Vienna Convention Bureau and we provide assistance with implementation.

Ambitious energy-efficiency targets

The Austria Center Vienna was built in 1987. And thanks to extensive modernisation programmes, the venue is ideally placed to meet future environmental standards. The high-efficiency heat recovery technology in the ventilation system has cut energy use by 90%, while unused waste heat from the air conditioning units is injected into Vienna’s district heating network.

Promoting employees

Promoting a healthy work-life balance is very important to us, because only a motivated team can deliver outstanding performance. The opportunity to work at home, supporting parental leave for fathers as well as other measures to support women and families are enshrined in our corporate culture – just like our health initiatives including an employee gym, fruit baskets and our fit2work programme.

Shaping the future

We’re not only proud of our achievements so far; they also encourage us to take further steps towards boosting sustainability, such as continuous modernisation measures, greening of exterior spaces, raising awareness of environmentally friendly travel options, hosting increasing numbers of green meetings, as well as systematic action aimed at boosting employee satisfaction.
