First aiders always at hand

Defibrillator Austria Center Vienna There are three defibrillators at the Austria Center Vienna for use in medical emergencies.

Providing basic care for medical emergencies is essential, particularly in a conference centre with a capacity of up to 20,000 people. The Austria Center Vienna has the necessary systems in place to ensure that immediate help is always available if it is called upon.

And this not only applies to the numerous events for which the presence of additional trained first aiders and a doctor is mandated by the Vienna Events Act.

Around 90% of Austria Center Vienna employees are designated first aiders and have completed a 16-hour first aid training course run by an accredited training body. With such a large number of events hosted at the venue, we see it as our duty to ensure that we are always as well prepared as possible if called upon to provide first aid support in an emergency.

First aid kits are located in every department and at all of the main access and egress points in the building –  medical staff also have a separate first aid room with a medical bed, ambulance trolley bed and wheelchair at their disposal.

The venue also has a total of three defibrillators, one of which is located right next to the information desk in the main entrance. All first-aiders are trained in its use.
