Security
Security and surveillance equipment All security systems are monitored by the central control room which is manned 24 hours a day. Alarm systems and surveillance cameras are installed in all halls and foyers, as well as the entrances to the ACV, the multi-storey car park and access roads. The monitors are housed in the central control room. Door surveillance systems and intercoms are also in place at all entrances to the ACV, and in all the lifts. These are also directly linked to the control room. A public address system that is audible throughout the building and overrides all other sound systems makes it possible to provide employees and visitors with information rapidly and efficiently in an emergency.
Security contact All our event managers are fully conversant with our security and evacuation strategies. Please nominate a person in your organisation to assist the event manager with emergency measures.
First aid services All our event managers are trained first aiders. First aid services are mandatory for at events with attendances upwards of 200, and from 501 pax upwards a doctor must also be present.
Fire protection There is an automatic fire alarm system with fire detectors throughout the building (inc. suspended ceilings). There is also a direct telemetric link to the Vienna fire brigade. Wet and dry standpipes, sprinkler systems in storage areas, and about 700 fire extinguishers and smoke extractors ensure compliance with the relevant safety standards.
Smoking The ACV is a no smoking area since 1 February 2007. For health and safety reasons, and in compliance with new legislation (Section 13 Austrian Tobacco Act) we would like to draw attention to the general smoking ban in force at the ACV. Your event manager will be happy to draw up a plan for designated smoking areas on request.
